This book is an expanded version of a very nice pamphlet by the same author you can get for free from the Maine Dep't of tourism web site. The book contains more birding sites, and better maps (actually, the maps are really detailed and the best part of the book). I just returned from a 2 week birding trip to Maine, where I used the book every day... the information was accurate and easy to use. Bob really knows where the birds are, and if you go birding in Maine without this book, you're a fool.Several suggestions to make it better: Road directions don't always contain addresses or nearest intersection, making it difficult to navigate by GPS on several occasions. Lat/Lons would be nice. Also, there are over 200 sites described...The information contained in each site description is usually enough to figure out the habitat, and which birds are likely there. I realize that everyone is looking for something different, and this is asking a lot, but a 'ranking' of some sort would be nice. I hope to start taking trips to Maine. I will see how accurate the book is.
